River of Light Lantern Parade

The 13th Annual River of Light Lantern Parade will be held on

Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Theme: Marvelous Magic

Waterbury

The Moretown Artists (PreK-6th grade) will be participating in the River of Light Lantern Parade!

Children have created their lanterns in Art class. They will be available for pick up at MES Wednesday November 30th - Friday, December 2nd. If you pick up your child at the end of the school day on one of these three dates, you can take your lantern home with you then. If your child rides the bus, we ask for you to please stop by the school on one of these days to safely pick up their lantern.

You and your child are invited to participate in the Parade with their lantern on Saturday, December 3rd!

We are excited and looking forward to being a part of this

Lantern Community Event!

The River of Light Lantern Parade

The 13th annual River of Light Lantern Parade will take place on Saturday, December 3rd at 5:00 PM. The parade will start at Brookside Primary School, head down Stowe Street and then right on Main Street to Dac Rowe where there will be hot chocolate, bonfires, and the Cirque de Fuego fire spinners. This year's theme is Marvelous Magic and we have some wonderfully magical lanterns in store for you.

This event would not be possible without our sponsors, the Harwood Unified Union School District, Waterbury Winterfest, The Alchemist, Ben and Jerry's, and Billing's Mobil. Thanks also the the Waterbury Recreation Department, the countless volunteers and others who have donated to this event. Up to date information can be found at https://www.ariveroflightinwaterbury.org/ .

Please remember that there will be road closures along the parade route from 4:55 - 5:30 that evening.
